Band 6 or 7 Opportunity

Full or part time available

This is an exciting opportunity to join the established Paediatric Critical Care Outreach Team (PCCOT) at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic paediatric nurse with excellent clinical, communication, and decision-making skills. You will be able to manage competing priorities, make high-level decisions, and work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to lead and deliver expert care for critically ill children.

As a Paediatric Critical Care Outreach Nurse, you will use advanced clinical assessment and decision-making skills to support the care of acutely unwell children across the hospital. You will act as a professional role model, supporting, educating, and developing nursing and junior medical staff in paediatric acute and high dependency care.

This role offers experienced senior nurses the opportunity to focus on clinical leadership, care delivery, and education for higher-acuity patients. The PCCOT leads clinical management pathways and promotes high standards of holistic, evidence-based care across all clinical areas. Successful applicants will be expected to work autonomously throughout the hospital, leading, managing, and supervising patient assessment and care delivery.

Applicants are required to be RSCN or RN-Part 15 (Child Branch) and have a post-registration qualification in a related acute paediatric field. You will have excellent communication skills, proven acute paediatric clinical skills together with organisational, leadership and management expertise.
