Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualised support to students with special educational needs and disabilities, ensuring they can fully participate in all aspects of school life
- Work closely with teaching staff to develop and implement tailored learning plans that address the unique needs of each student
- Adapt learning materials and resources to enhance accessibility and engagement
- Assist with personal care activities such as toileting, feeding, and mobility as required
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and promotes the wellbeing of all students
- Collaborate with therapists, parents, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive and effective support network
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience working with children with special educational needs and disabilities, either in a school or relevant care setting
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Excellent problem-solving and adaptability skills to address the diverse needs of students
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the growth and development of children with special needs
- A recognised qualification in education, childcare, or a related field, or a willingness to work towards one
- Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to the overall success of the school
