About this role
Introduction - I am a 12-year-old boy who enjoys going out on Dartmoor walking and to beaches, but my mobility is limited so we use a wheelchair at times, visiting the aquarium, reading, having a laugh and socialising.

Duties
I would like someone to accompany me to the activities that I enjoy.
I require 2
1 support at all times and need to trust the people who support me. I currently have a regular worker who can help make connections with me. Support with my toileting needs are required (Pad changing). Supervision is always required when walking and I do use a wheelchair. I also need constant supervision as I cannot be left alone. I do tend to fall asleep and then have seizures, so I need to be not left to sleep during your working time with me. Ideally, I would like to establish a team of people that can support me into adulthood and beyond.
Hours
2 : 1 care.
Initially between 3 to 10 hours per week during school term time, moving up to 25 hours a week during school holidays.
The hours will be discussed and increased once relationships are established.

Rate
£15.79/hour
Essential Requirements
To be able to drive and own a car, DBS checked, I need someone who is Patient, this is highly important as I have up to 10 minutes processing delay, someone who is prepared to be put through training to support Epilepsy. Someone who is fun to be around and ideally can sing, I love to listen to people sing (Not matter how bad that may be). My ability to communicate requires very clear speech and so you must be a good clear communicator.
Desired Experience
Someone who has experience and knowledge regarding Epilepsy and SEN experience (even if that’s through a family member).
