About this role
Work as a peri-operative practitioner within the ward, A&E, theatre and outpatient clinic settings. Participate in operative procedures and aspects of pre and post-operative care of Trauma & Orthopaedic patients, under the direction of the Consultant Orthopaedic surgeons. Work at an advanced level and be able to practice both autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team. Be self-directed to ensure the provision of enhanced continuity and high standards of care to patients requiring orthopaedic surgery and intervention. Work closely with the medical and nursing staff to develop this role to its full potential. Work as a member of the multidisciplinary team participating in the planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care Provide specialist education and training to a wide discipline of staff Undertake research activities and clinical audits in Trauma & Orthopaedics Undertake appropriate training and assessment in the competencies required to undertake the role with a high degree of clinical skill and knowledge.
