Taunton

Up to £28,000 per year

We are recruiting for a compassionate and resilient Emotional Support Practitioner to join a therapeutic children's residential service in Taunton.

You will work closely with children and young people who may have experienced trauma, challenging backgrounds, or emotional and behavioural difficulties. Your role will be key in helping them build trust, develop coping strategies, and achieve positive outcomes in a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent emotional and therapeutic support to children and young people
  • Build trusted, positive relationships that promote stability and growth
  • Support with daily routines, education, and social development
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and emotional resilience
  • Work collaboratively with a skilled residential care team and external professionals
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning

Shift Pattern

  • Full-time position on a rolling rota
  • Includes long day shifts, evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins

About You

  • Calm, patient, and emotionally resilient
  • Passionate about supporting children and young people
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience in care, support work, or youth work is desirable but not essential
  • A willingness to learn and develop within a therapeutic setting
  • Driver Required
