Prospero Teaching is looking for compassionate, resilient, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join a range of SEN primary and SEN secondary schools across Wimborne and the surrounding Dorset area.

These specialist settings provide a highly rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with additional needs, behavioural challenges, communication differences, and barriers to learning. Many schools are offering temp‑to‑perm pathways for candidates who show consistency, commitment, and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.

Key Responsibilities

  • Personalised

SEN support - working 1

1 or in small groups with pupils with a range of needs

  • Assisting with creative and therapeutic activities to promote engagement and emotional well‑being
  • Supporting emotional regulation and helping pupils develop independence
  • Promoting safety and positive behaviour in line with school policies
  • Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families through consistent communication

Requirements

To be considered, you must

  • Have the Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an Enhanced Child‑Barred List DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply)
  • Provide professional references covering the last 24 months
  • Hold a Level 2/3 qualification in childcare, education, or a related field OR have relevant experience supporting children or vulnerable individuals
