About this role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Aerospace Buyer to join a leading helicopter manufacturer based in Yeovil on a long-term temporary basis. This role is critical to ensuring the continued performance, productivity, and output of the business through effective procurement and supplier management activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Buyer for mechanical hardware and related components
  • Raising Purchase Orders (POs) against Long-Term Agreements (LTAs)
  • Creating and maintaining Vendor Lists
  • Sending Requests for Quotation (RFQs) against SAP requisitions and preparing supplier selection reports
  • Raising and managing purchase orders within SAP

Sending technical data requests including

  • 2D Drawings
  • 3D Models
  • Technical Specifications
  • Invoice clearance and resolution support
  • Managing part country of origin and classification data
  • Quality Notification (QN) management
  • Supplier pre-qualification and qualification activities
  • Sending quotation requests for AFP/RFQs and uploading documentation into SAP

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience in a procurement, purchasing, buyer, or supply chain role
  • Strong experience working with contracts, purchase orders (POs), and supplier documentation
  • Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential, including:
  • VLOOKUPs
  • Pivot Tables
  • Data analysis and reporting
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and supplier coordination skills
