Primary Teaching Assistant – Flexible supply roles, day-to-day and short-term opportunities

Duties as Primary Teaching Assistant
- Support class teachers with day-to-day classroom activities across EYFS, KS1, and KS2
- Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and promote progress
- Assist with classroom organisation, preparation of resources, and daily routines
- Promote positive behaviour and support pupils’ social and emotional development
- Provide additional support for pupils with SEND where required
- Encourage engagement, independence, and confidence in learning
- Support transitions, playtimes, and lunchtime supervision when needed
- Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times
- Provide feedback to teachers on pupil progress and engagement
- Represent Class Act professionally while working as a Primary Teaching Assistant
Ideal Primary Teaching Assistant
- Previous experience working as a Primary Teaching Assistant or in a primary school setting
- A positive, patient, and supportive approach to working with children
- Confidence supporting pupils across different age groups and abilities
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility and reliability when working on supply
- A proactive and adaptable attitude to classroom support
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Ability to follow guidance and adapt quickly in new school environments
