About this role
Multi skilled role covering the Science Park Café, Conference rooms and Reception.
You will learn how to assist customers from all sides and learn just what it takes to keep a Science Park running.
From receiving visitors for events, serving customers in our café, building admin experience to checking fire alarms are tested.
Your apprenticeship will give you experience in a range of transferable skills.
Main duties and responsibilities
Work collaboratively with ESPL’s core and
extended teams to develop and deliver successful products and services in
support of ESPL’S vision, mission, objectives and strategy.
Provide an effective service to customers,
with responsibility for the day to day operations in the Café and across the
Front of House, maintaining a pleasant, courteous and friendly manner at all
times.
Liaise closely with and support the Centre
Support Officer with all Food and Beverage requirements for the Seminar and
Meeting rooms, ensuring that they meet client needs.
Accurately operating the click and collect
service for online orders in the Café, communicating online orders to the Chef
and ensuring that they are correctly delivered and charged for.
Operating the till and taking payments from
customers in the Café and assisting the Chef with the procurement of supplies.
Ensuring a high level of health and safety in
the Café and Front of House by maintaining accurate cleaning and temperature
records, clearing and cleaning tables and chairs after each sitting, and
clearing and cleaning the kitchen servery in accordance with the Health and
Safety Regulations and Guidance.
Undertaking preparation of the food and
beverages served in the café, as required, and setting up and breaking down the
outside seating areas (weather permitting).
Ensuring the café environment is pleasant and
welcoming in line with the brand image agreed by senior management.
Ensuring that routine maintenance issues are
reported to the Client Services Manager, and compliance with risk assessments
and operational procedures.
Maintain a flexible approach to provide
support to team members during busy parts of the day, holidays and sickness
cover, as well as on an ad-hoc basis, as required.

You will attend Exeter College one day per week working towards your Level 2 Administration Assistant apprenticeship.
Qualifications required
Maths and English GCSE at 4/C.
Skills required
Excellent communication skills both
verbal (over the phone and face to face) and written.
Excellent customer service skills.
Familiar with Microsoft
suite
Comfortable with
touch screen café point of service is preferable but not necessary.
A friendly and courteous approach to customer
service.
Prospects
Potential
for promotion within the ESPL team once this role has been established.
