About the RoleWe are seeking a compassionate, resilient, and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (

LSA) to help provide 2

1 support for a child with very high and complex needs within an educational setting in Gloucester.This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a child's daily life, learning journey, and personal development. The successful candidate will work closely with the child, teaching staff, and other professionals to provide consistent support, encouragement, and care.

Key Responsibilities

Provide dedicated 2

1 support throughout the school day.Support the child's learning, communication, emotional regulation, and engagement in activities.Implement behaviour support strategies to manage and respond appropriately to challenging behaviours.Assist with personal care needs while maintaining the child's dignity and wellbeing.Build a positive, trusting, and nurturing relationship with the child.Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and families.Maintain accurate records and contribute to support plans as required.Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

About the ChildThe child has very high support needs and can present with challenging behaviours, requiring a calm, patient, and consistent approach. While the role can be demanding, the child is also warm, affectionate, and rewarding to work with, forming strong relationships with trusted adults who understand their needs.

About YouWe are looking for someone who:Has experience working with children or young people with additional needs, SEND, autism, learning disabilities, or complex behaviours.Is calm, patient, and emotionally resilient.Has experience managing challenging behaviour positively and safely.Is comfortable providing personal care support.Can work effectively as part of a team.Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.Is reliable, flexible, and committed to making a positive impact.

Desirable Qualifications & ExperienceTeaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant experience.Experience supporting children with complex SEND needs.Training in behaviour management, de-escalation techniques, or positive behaviour support.Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, health and social care, or SEND support.
