We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Registered Manager to lead the launch of a brand-new children's residential home, creating a safe, therapeutic and nurturing environment where young people can thrive.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to take the lead in opening a new 3-bedroom children's home supporting young people with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and mild learning difficulties.

You will have the opportunity to build the service from the ground up, recruit and develop your own team, and establish a positive culture focused on achieving outstanding outcomes for children and young people.

Key responsibilities include

  • Leading the full opening of the children's home from recruitment through to occupancy
  • Recruiting, developing and inspiring a high-performing staff team
  • Ensuring compliance with Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted requirements
  • Developing and overseeing individual care plans
  • Acting as the Registered Person with Ofsted
  • Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and quality assurance
  • Building positive relationships with children, families, social workers and external agencies
  • Driving continuous improvement through audits, feedback and staff development
  • Managing budgets, occupancy levels and overall service performance

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or willingness to complete within three years
  • A minimum of two years' experience within a children's residential setting during the last five years
  • At least one year of supervisory or management experience
  • Strong knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and the Ofsted inspection framework
  • A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle

Desirable experience includes

  • Opening a new children's home or similar service
  • Achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings
  • Supporting children with EBD and mild learning difficulties
  • Trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches to care
  • Recruiting and developing new teams
  • Managing budgets and service performance

This opportunity may suit an experienced Deputy Manager looking to step into a Registered Manager position.
