This is a site-based role covering areas from Croydon down to Brighton, depending on repair jobs. Jobs are scheduled efficiently using a planning system, with your home (or an agreed starting point within the operating area) as the base location.

We’re looking for a Carpenter to join Raven Housing Trust’s Repairs team delivering high-quality repairs across our properties. You’ll carry out a variety of carpentry repairs, ensuring every job is completed to a high standard and leaves a positive impression for residents.

You’ll use your trade expertise to diagnose issues, complete work efficiently, and keep residents informed throughout each job. You’ll work independently while also supporting wider teams to keep repairs running smoothly

What you’ll be doing

  • Preparing and carrying out a range of carpentry tasks, including the installation, repair and replacement of doors, skirting, architraves, kitchens, and general woodwork, along with external works such as fencing
  • Diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently, ensuring work is completed right first time wherever possible
  • Preparing and carrying out a range of carpentry tasks, including repairs to doors, windows, kitchens, and general woodwork
  • Delivering a great customer experience by communicating clearly with residents and keeping them informed throughout the job
  • Always working safely and in line with health and safety regulations.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone who

  • Has a recognised qualification in Carpentry (C&G Level 2, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience carrying out carpentry repairs in a customer-focused environment
  • The ability to assess repairs and use your expertise to identify the most effective solutions
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain work clearly and keep residents informed throughout each job
  • Experience using mobile technology to receive and update work records
  • Follows risk assessments, manufacturer’s guidance, and all health and safety procedures, including COSHH and manual handling
  • Holds a full, clean UK driving licence.
