We are seeking a reliable, organised, and proactive Minibus Driver & Transport Coordinator to oversee the smooth operation of the school’s transport services while driving a scheduled morning minibus route.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong coordination skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to manage day-to-day transport logistics in a busy school environment.

Key Responsibilities

Transport Coordination

  • Drive the school minibus on a scheduled morning route.
  • Coordinate daily transport services, routes, and schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records of vetted drivers and transport documentation.
  • Liaise with drivers, parents, and external transport providers regarding services and queries.
  • Arrange cover for driver absences to ensure continuity of service.
  • Coordinate coach transport requirements for school trips and events.
  • Manage unexpected transport issues and implement contingency arrangements when required.

Health & Safety

  • Carry out routine vehicle safety checks and report defects promptly.
  • Ensure minibuses are clean, safe, fuelled, and well maintained.
  • Monitor vehicle equipment and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
  • Support breakdown procedures and alternative transport arrangements where necessary.
  • Maintain compliance with all driver safety and medical requirements.

Administration & Compliance

  • Complete and monitor journey check sheets, mileage logs, and driver records.
  • Ensure all drivers maintain accurate records and follow procedures.
  • Complete MIDAS minibus driver training and refresher training every two years.

About You

The successful candidate will

  • Be organised, dependable, and able to prioritise effectively.
  • Have excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding and health & safety.
  • Be confident dealing with operational issues calmly and efficiently.
  • Hold a clean and appropriate driving licence (D1) for minibus driving.
