Personal assistant Carer

I’m looking for two female self-employed personal assistants in Andover or the outskirts of Andover working alternate days to the other PA to help and support me a 32 year old woman who is wheelchair bound with cerebral palsy. Help is required mornings and evenings as well as support to go on social outings during the day and evenings.

Weekly hours and what I help and support with.

Between 3 and a half and 20 hours a week split between two personal assistants

Helping with toileting.

Help being hoisted in and out bed evening and morning (mainly evening at this time) ideally i’d like to be in bed for 10 pm/10:30 pm

Help with showering in the morning two times a week ideally from 8:30 a.m.

Sometimes I’ll need help getting dressed.

Help and support going to social activities. Some social activities might involve staying over for a night or two. If I decide to stay over for a night you would be doing sleeping nights only.

Type of employment, experience and other essential details

Be self employed

Hourly rate £15-£20

Have a UK driving license

Previous care experience.

Experience with hoisting.

Experience with helping someone with cerebral palsy.

Being patient is a must.

Accompany me to some social activities/days out

Being willing to stay over with me on occasion (sleeping nights only)

Like cats and other animals.

Have a sense of humour

Be trustworthy and reliable.

Be willing to have an enhanced DBS check.

About me.

My name is Kerry I am a 32 year old woman with cerebral palsy (I can’t walk) I’m an animal lover who lives with 4 house cats and my parents. One of the cats is mine the other three are my parents. I love watching TV, some of my favourite show are Friends, Grey’s Anatomy and the split. I like going out with my friends, social activity wise, I go to the Hawk Conservancy, to the cinema, going to the theatre for musicals, magician night etc and I like having a laugh. My goal for having PAs is to gain independence without having to rely on my as much parents. I want to experience new things, have some freedom and live life.
