An exciting opportunity has arisen at Tiger Primary School to join Team Tiger as our Family Liaison Officer.

Tiger is a warm, friendly school with wonderful children, committed staff and a strong community ethos. We are looking for a child-centred, well-being focused and highly motivated practitioner who is determined to make a real difference to children and families.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils and families through preventative and early intervention work, helping to remove barriers to learning, improve attendance and ensure that every child is able to access the full range of educational opportunities available to them.

This is an important role within our wider pastoral and safeguarding team. The FLO will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team – including the Headteacher and Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion, SENDCo, Attendance Team and external agencies to provide timely, effective support for children and families. This may include supporting families through Early Help, signposting to appropriate services, contributing to safeguarding processes and working collaboratively with professionals to ensure children are safe, supported and ready to learn.

At Tiger, we know that excellent attendance is essential to children’s success. The successful candidate will have the confidence and resilience to work proactively with families where attendance is a concern, offering support where needed while also providing appropriate challenge. They will help identify patterns, understand barriers and work with families and agencies to improve outcomes for pupils.

This is a demanding but highly rewarding role. In return, we can offer you a friendly and supportive school, wonderful children and families, and a committed team who work together to help every child be the very best version of themselves.

The successful candidate will

  • Be sensitive, caring and determined to make a difference
  • Have a strong understanding of the importance of safeguarding, attendance and early intervention
  • Be confident working with families to identify and reduce barriers to learning
  • Be able to support children and families with warmth, while also offering appropriate challenge when needed
  • Have the confidence and resilience to tackle persistent absenteeism with rigour – including making home visits where necessary.
  • Be comfortable working independently, using their own initiative, as well as working as part of a wider team
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, parents, carers and professionals
  • Be confident working with external agencies to secure the right support for children and families
  • Be able to encourage identified pupils and/or families to enter into a mutually beneficial partnership with the school
  • Be committed to the values and ethos of Team Tiger

We will offer you

  • A vibrant, welcoming and exciting place to work
  • Wonderful children and families
  • A supportive and committed staff team
  • Opportunities to work closely with colleagues across pastoral, safeguarding, SEND and attendance
  • An excellent CPD programme, with opportunities for action research and gaining nationally accredited qualifications
  • The support of a Trust that currently runs two secondary schools, a primary school and a nursery for children aged 3 months to 4 years
  • An opportunity to join various schemes such as the Cycle Scheme and our assistance package from

BHSF including
