Senior Nurse Lead

About this role

Main Duties and Responsibilities Clinical Responsibilities Practice autonomously in accordance with clinical competencies and agreed frameworks. Assess, diagnose, treat, and refer patients appropriately. Deliver evidence-based and culturally relevant care.

Provide

Sexual health services Cervical cytology Immunisations Chronic disease management Wound care Health promotion services Lead on home nursing services and integrated care. Maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient records. Support patients with healthy lifestyle advice and disease prevention. Ensure effective use of information technology in clinical practice. Ensure nursing care is audited, evaluated, and continuously improved. Management and Administration Human Resources Line manage the nursing team and support workforce planning. Conduct appraisals and support staff revalidation. Support recruitment and staffing requirements. Manage leave requests and ensure safe staffing levels. Equipment and Stock Maintain stock levels and oversee procurement of equipment. Ensure medical devices are maintained and compliant with policies. Support cost-effective resource management. Clinical Governance and Safety Lead infection prevention and control processes. Maintain cold chain compliance and documentation. Participate in audits, risk management, and governance activities. Ensure legal mechanisms for medicines management are in place. Participate in development and review of nursing standards and protocols. Teaching and Mentorship Teach, supervise, assess, and mentor: Junior nursing staff Health Care Assistants Students Support professional development and clinical learning.
