About this role

The post holder will lead on data management, data quality and performance reporting for Forensic and Health in Justice Services, ensuring the provision of timely, accurate and high‑quality information to support operational delivery, financial oversight, quality improvement and strategic decision‑making. The role will oversee data extraction, analysis and submission processes, develop and maintain robust data quality assurance systems, and design bespoke data collection tools where gaps exist.

Working closely with clinical, operational, performance and information teams, the post holder will design user‑focused reporting solutions and provide specialist expertise in interpreting complex and multi‑source datasets. They will manage and support locally based data administrators, deliver training to staff on effective data capture within EPR and other systems, and proactively identify risks and opportunities relating to data quality and service performance.

The role will play a key part in service development, performance management, audits and quality improvement activity, ensuring compliance with information governance, Trust policies, CQC standards and safeguarding requirements. The post holder will communicate complex information clearly to a wide range of stakeholders and contribute to the continuous improvement of systems, processes and ways of working across the service.

· Overseeing data management across Liaison and Diversion Services, including extracts, analysis and submission

· Developing and operating data quality monitoring and management systems to support services to proactively monitor performance and achieve key performance indicators across a range of domains

· Developing bespoke data collection tools in cases where data does not currently exist to support research, QI projects, service developments, and other initiatives

· Work with colleagues to design and mobilise Power BI dashboards targeting

In order to meet the needs of the Trust you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.

  • To ensure and/or oversee accurate data extractions and submissions according to a set timetable.

· To interrogate and manipulate large and complex data extracts in order to identify the root causes for any data anomalies or gaps, ie. user error, reporting error, etc.

· To proactively identify any key ‘gaps’ in the data capture systems that clinicians and managers are provided with and then work with the Information Team to scope, specify and build new system extracts to better meet service information and business intelligence needs.

· To undertake complex ad-hoc data quality activities in areas defined by the Head of Business Management. This will involve managing potentially contradictory and highly complex data to ascertain a credible, easily understandable position on data quality and its impact. The post holder will be expected to present this information to internal audiences as necessary.

· To aggregate information from multiple sources and across service areas.

· To observe utmost rigour in the protection of patient-identifiable data, including continual improvement of filing practices and security techniques.

· Ensuring that all reports produced meet specified validation and quality control requirements before they are published.

· Ensuring that new reporting protocols, procedures and timetables are documented and existing protocols, procedures, timetables updated as appropriate to ensure business continuity.

· Resolving in a helpful manner any routine queries in relation to the reports developed and escalating any system-related issues.

· Take appropriate action to resolve any anomalies found within extracted data or reports seeking support where appropriate.
