Working within the Remote Enforcement Office Bus Compliance team, to conduct a range of duties, ensuring that accurate and thorough assessments are completed, highlighting areas of concern across the Enforcement spectrum.

Working in a team of Enforcement professionals to support DVSA’s aims to prevent, enable and respond, the role mainly involves conducting technical analysis of tachograph data, driver’s hour’s information, compliance system assessments, and conducting tasks in relation to the national bus compliance schemes and light vehicle MOT testing scheme.

The role requires flexibility, effective teamwork, and the ability to manage a varied workload independently. The post holder must balance competing priorities, make sound decisions under pressure, and use initiative to deliver outcomes with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include reviewing information, determining appropriate follow‑up actions, and delivering New Operator Seminars.Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Carry out assessments of operators, identifying compliance risks and areas for improvement
  • Coordinate and manage remote enforcement workflows, ensuring cases are progressed efficiently and effectively
  • Investigate intelligence, complaints and casework to determine appropriate action
  • Prepare high-quality evidence and reports to support enforcement outcomes, education, and advice
  • Support national bus compliance schemes through monitoring, case creation, and intervention activity
  • Deliver New Operator Seminars to educate and influence industry compliance
  • Work with a wide range of stakeholders including Traffic Commissioners, operators and local authorities
  • Manage workloads independently while balancing competing priorities and delivering at pace
