Twinsite Store Manager - Opticians (Croydon)

About this role

Are you an experienced retail leader who cares about people, takes pride in great customer service, and knows how to bring out the best in a team?

We have two stores and one opportunity for you to step into a Twinsite Store Manager role with Boots Opticians, leading our Croydon Whitgift and London Road locations. You’ll bring clarity, energy and expertise to both sites, delivering exceptional customer care every day.

These are busy community stores with a loyal customer base and long-standing teams who genuinely care about what they do. There’s a great foundation in place — your role will be to bring both sites together (with 5–6 team members in each), create consistency, and shape an experience that keeps customers coming back.

Boots Opticians is always evolving, with new brands and services such as our Optomap eye scan being introduced all the time. You’ll play a key role in bringing these to life in your stores — making sure they feel relevant and meaningful for your customers.

As a Twinsite Store Manager, you’ll lead from the front — setting the tone for great service and creating team cultures that feel supportive, positive and confident. You’ll build environments where your teams feels trusted to do their best work, and where customers know they can rely on Boots.

This role is ideal for Store Managers who are already doing the job — driving performance, setting clear expectations and keeping standards high — and are now ready to do it at Boots, across two locations.

If you’re looking for a role where you can lead multiple teams, drive commercial success, grow people and make a real difference to your local community every day, this could be a great next step for you.

What you’ll be doing

As Twinsite Store Manager, you’ll report into the Regional Manager and bring energy, direction and purpose to your stores. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll spend time on the shop floor, supporting your team and role modelling how great care and strong sales performance go hand in hand.

You’ll balance the day-to-day running of two stores while keeping a clear focus on people, standards and experience.

You will

  • Lead and inspire your teams to deliver exceptional service
  • Drive sales and performance, balancing customer care with commercial goals
  • Bring both store teams together to create one aligned, positive culture
  • Support the delivery of services such as Optomap eye scans, offering clear and trusted advice
  • Champion the Boots brand and make your stores stand out
  • Get to know your people — what motivates them and where they need support
  • Coach and develop your team, building confidence, skills and experience
  • Use data and insight to identify opportunities and improve performance
  • Create store environments your teams are proud of and customers want to return to

What you’ll need to have (our must-haves)

  • Retail store management experience
  • Strong customer service skills and a genuine passion for customer care
  • Experience driving performance and implementing strategy in-store
  • A calm, flexible approach with the confidence to adapt at pace
  • A collaborative style, with the ability to build strong team culture and local relationships
  • A passion for learning — you’ll complete our Step into Optics programme within your first 3 months

It would be great if you also have

  • Confidence using digital tools, systems and performance insight
  • Experience leading larger teams or multiple locations
  • Optical or clinical experience

If you don’t come from an optics background, you’ll need to be an experienced Store Manager who is ready to learn quickly. You’ll be supported by a knowledgeable team and your Regional Manager, and expected to complete our Step into Optics within your first 3 months — so drive and determination are key.
