Apprentice Mechanical or Electrical Engineer - Permanent - Full Time - Enfield
Due to an exciting period of growth and investment in our people development, cfes Ltd have multiple exciting opportunities for Apprentice Engineers to join our teams on a Full Time and Permanent Basis. We are happy to consider applications from those wishing to start level 2 or 3 onwards.
In this key role, you will be expected to support the design, development, and maintenance of mechanical and/or electrical systems while gaining practical skills and industry knowledge through hands-on experience and training at our Facilities management contract at a central sterile services unit for the Royal Free Hospital Enfield.
Duties and Responsibilites;
- Assist engineers with the design and development of mechanical/electrical components and systems
- Support the installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment
- Interpret and contribute to technical drawings, CAD models, and engineering documentation
- Carry out inspections, fault finding, and basic diagnostics on equipment
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and maintenance logs
- Use engineering tools, equipment, and software safely and effectively
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times
- Work collaboratively with team members across departments
- Participate fully in training programmes, college work, and assessments
- Continuously develop knowledge of engineering principles, materials, and processes
- Completion of Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Half Yearly and Annual planned maintenance tasks generated by sfg20/fmfirst and allocated to engineers mobile tablet.
- Completing various reactive maintenance tasks when they occur.
- Liaising with key- sub contractors when they attend site for planned maintenance visits to maintain compliance and service.

Who we're looking for;
- Basic understanding of FM, ideally within mechanical and/or electrical engineering principles
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Basic IT skills (e.g., Microsoft Office; CAD knowledge is a plus)
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths, English, and Science (preferred)
- Interest in pursuing a career in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering
- Willingness to undertake an apprenticeship qualification (e.g., Level 3 or higher)
- Commitment to learning and professional development
