We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Occupational Therapist to join the established Therapy Team at Holybourne Hospital.

The successful candidate is looking at an August start date.

As part of our multi-disciplinary team (mdt), you will contribute to the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of therapeutic interventions that support recovery, promote functional independence, and enhance overall wellbeing. As part of this, you will be part of mdt forums such as team meetings and ward rounds.

You will be primarily based in the new Psychiatric Intensive Care (PICU) unit.

There will also be requirement and opportunity to apply your skills to the attached Acute Wards and a specialist Mental Health Residential Service providing rehabilitation, care and support to vulnerable people with complex mental health conditions.

The role

Key Responsibilities

  • With support of the Head of Therapies, to develop and embed the Occupational Therapy model within the PICU and Residential Service
  • To undertake comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments using a range of methods including functional assessment, sensory profiling, observation, interviews and standardised outcome measures
  • To develop person-centred formulation and intervention plans that promote independence, recovery and meaningful engagement in daily activities
  • To deliver and evaluate evidence-based individual and group Occupational Therapy interventions
  • To contribute to risk assessment, risk management and care planning within the MDT
  • To assess and support service users with activities of daily living, emotional regulation, sensory needs, vocational goals and community integration
  • To provide recommendations and guidance on therapeutic environments, activity programmes and occupation-focused interventions
  • To produce high-quality clinical docum
  • To support and guide colleagues in deliverinentation, reports and outcome measures in line with professional standardsg occupationally informed and recovery-focused interventions
  • To contribute to clinical governance, audit, service development and staff training
  • To maintain HCPC registration, CPD and compliance with regulatory and organisational standards
  • To participate in clinical and line management supervision

About you

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated

Occupational Therapist who

  • Is a qualified and registered Occupational Therapist (HCPC registration required).
  • Has at least two years post-qualification experience.
  • Has strong interest in Adult Mental Health.
  • Can work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Can, with support of Head of Therapy, develop PICU and community pathway
  • Demonstrates excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills.
  • Is committed to providing high-quality, evidence-based care.
  • Can supervise a Band 5 Occupational Therapist and Occupational Therapy Assistants.
  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS
