Our client, a highly respected educational institution in South London, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-Time SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teacher to join their dynamic team. Your role will involve working closely with students, parents, and other educational professionals to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) that address the unique needs and learning styles of each student. In addition to your exceptional teaching skills, you will possess a strong understanding of the latest educational policies, methodologies, and best practices relevant to SEN education. The salary for this position is negotiable, ranging from £180 to £250 per day, depending on your level of experience and qualifications. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement tailored lesson plans that cater to the unique learning needs of students with special educational requirements
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including parents, therapists, and other educational professionals, to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs)
- Monitor student progress, provide regular feedback, and adapt teaching strategies to ensure the continuous growth and development of each student
- Create a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that fosters the social, emotional, and academic growth of students
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with the latest educational policies, methodologies, and best practices in SEN education
- Effectively communicate with parents, caregivers, and other stakeholders to ensure a strong partnership and shared understanding of student progress and needs
- Maintain detailed records and documentation related to student progress, IEPs, and other relevant information
- Actively contribute to the overall development and improvement of the school's SEN programme
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a SEN Teacher, preferably in a South London-based educational setting
- In-depth knowledge of the UK National Curriculum and a strong understanding of the unique educational needs of students with special requirements
- Proven track record of designing and implementing effective, engaging, and differentiated lesson plans for students with diverse learning needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Proficient in using technology and digital tools to enhance the learning experience
- Highly organised, with strong time management and multi-tasking abilities
