Support Workers
Our client is currently recruiting for 3 Support Workers, to work in the Guildford area at a service providing support to individuals with complex needs.
37.5 hours per week
Monday – Sunday on a rota basis
️ Shifts- early (07:15-16:15), late (12:15-20:15) and long (08:00-20:00)
Temporary
approx. 2 months
£13.62 per hour (plus holiday pay)
Key Responsibilities
✅ Organise and carry out regular planned reviews of support and risk plans
✅Develop and co-produce support plans and My Safety Plans with residents
✅Support residents with daily living skills (cooking, cleaning, budgeting, personal care)
✅Manage crisis situations, relapse and behavioural challenges using de-escalation techniques
✅Coordinate support with external agencies including mental health services, Probation, Substance misuse services and Adult Social Care
✅Attend and contribute to multi-agency and safeguarding meetings
✅Advocate for residents and support them to attend external appointments
✅Support move-on pathways into sustainable accommodation
✅Support residents to maintain tenancies and understand occupancy agreements, manage rent, service charges and arrears and access housing benefit and Universal Credit
✅Complete referrals, assessments and admissions documentation
✅Lead on support initiatives including Group Work
✅Identify and promote opportunities for employment, education and training and support customers to remove barriers to accessing these opportunities
✅Carry out health and safety checks, including room inspections and basic safety checks
✅Report repairs, voids and maintenance issues promptly
What we’re looking for
✔️ Experience supporting individuals with complex and multiple needs
✔️An understanding of the barriers faced by vulnerable and diverse customer groups and individuals with complex needs.
✔️Strong background in Safeguarding and risk management, multi-agency working, Housing-related support and tenancy sustainment
✔️Experience of delivering structured support and risk management.
✔️Knowledge of Psychological or Trauma Informed approaches to support
✔️Experience handling crisis situations and challenging behaviour
✔️Demonstrate initiative and confidence to make and act on decisions.
✔️Experience of working in challenging environments with the ability to plan, prioritise, organise tasks to achieve results.
✔️Understanding of benefits systems and housing pathways
✔️Ability to maintain accurate records and manage casework effectively
✔️Competent administrative and IT skills (to be able to produce reports and other communications).
