Team Chaplain

About this role

To participate in developing the vision for the chaplaincy service in line with the Trusts strategic direction, ensuring this is underpinned by appropriate policies and guidance. To ensure that all members of the chaplaincy team are fully integrated into the service and that they are selected, screened, trained and supervised appropriately. Provision of pastoral and spiritual care To work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to provide/ensure the provision of pastoral, spiritual and religious care for patients, their relatives, staff, students and others. To be visible within the hospital and to visit patients, visitors and staff in all areas regularly and, when requested, to provide appropriate support to the seriously ill and dying and accompany those in need. Governance arrangements As part of the Chaplaincy team, to ensure that the Chaplaincy team respects the dignity, culture, beliefs and spiritual needs of each person and complies with the Trusts requirements concerning equality, diversity, and inclusion. To provide advice and support to appropriate committees, working parties and project teams as may be set up in the Trust, and contribute to the development of relevant policies where required. Training and education To share in leading and developing the Chaplaincy teams commitment to training, teaching and learning. To share in the support and debriefing of staff when requested following difficult or traumatic situations. Please refer to the job description for further details.
