What you'll be doing
Advance the reputation of Lloyds Banking Group as the bank that helps Britain prosper through creation and delivery of innovative and creative communication plans that evidence effective storytelling, are fully integrated, multi-channel and build pride in the Group.
Group Corporate Affairs (GCA) is an award-winning team that provides the insight, counsel, and challenge the Group needs to deliver its strategic objectives. We deliver best-in-class communications for key audiences, ensuring Lloyds Banking Group is recognised for helping Britain prosper.
You'll be guiding and advising on the corporate communications for Business & Commercial Banking (BCB) that serve approximately one million of UK's businesses.
Reporting into the Director of Communications for Commercial, you'll help set out and guide external and internal communications activity. From finding compelling stories to tell, leading integrated campaigns, through to inbound enquiries from politicians and media and delivering townhalls - no two days are the same! You'll play a big role in supporting our Commercial teams with our growth priorities as we are helping Britain prosper.
A little bit more about what you'll be doing

Define and deliver integrated communications strategies to support the Business & Commercial Banking Business Unit

Work closely and collaboratively with teams across GCA and with subject matter experts across the Group, providing informed, professional and strategic counsel on issues that affect reputation

Champion the communications needs and opportunities facing BCB; exploring innovative and creative ways to share the stories that showcase the crucial role they play in the transformation of the Group

Join - and often lead - matrix teams or squads to deliver integrated campaigns: bringing our media relations, internal communications, public affairs, digital, social and marketing teams together to create best-in-class activity

Create great relationships with our communications specialists across Group Corporate Affairs to identify, prioritise and deliver the impactful communications that promote the Group and commercial brands (Lloyds Bank and Bank of Scotland) to media, politicians, opinion formers and our employees

What we're looking for

Proven experience in a multi-disciplinary communications role, in areas such as media relations, public affairs and internal communications.

Demonstrable skills in proactive external communications alongside external reputation and partnering with marketing

Understanding of employee communications channels and how they can best be used innovatively to support improved employee engagement

Communications experience within financial services would be helpful, but isn't essential

Great business partnering and relationship building skills, able to cultivate a brilliant internal network of subject matter experts

A creative problem solver, with an in-depth understanding of the communications landscape, challenges and opportunities and a high level of commercial and risk awareness

Comfortable and experienced in working in a matrix environment, with a growth mindset and can-do attitude, so we can create great communication outcomes

A solid understanding of our internal and external audiences; and using this understanding to tailor our communication activity for maximum impact

Effective at prioritising multiple demands and working within tight timescales, alongside outstanding attention to detail

Able to think differently and bring new ideas; working with pace and efficiency

A curious mindset and proven experience of responsibly leveraging AI to drive efficiency and enhance creativity.

Exceptional written communication skills, with proven ability to craft clear, compelling content including speeches and executive-level communications
