About this role
The role of Healthy Lifestyle Advisor within ABLs One You Kent Service delivers evidence-based weight management and wider lifestyle behaviour change support to adults, helping individuals improve weight, physical activity, mental wellbeing, and overall health outcomes. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the post holder provides holistic, person-centred interventions across community and digital settings, including weight management programmes, 1:1 health coaching, and healthy eating and cookery sessions, while also supporting clients who may not yet be ready to engage in structured programmes. The role uses a client-centred, evidence-based approach incorporating motivational interviewing, positive psychology, and SMART goal setting, with ongoing monitoring of progress and tailored support in line with NICE guidance. It contributes to multidisciplinary assessments and care planning, participates in MDT meetings, and supports service development, quality improvement, and co-production of programme materials. In addition, the post holder is responsible for maintaining accurate records, meeting data requirements, and ensuring compliance with organisational policies and governance standards. The role also involves active community engagement, partnership working, promotion of services, and contribution to staff training and development, alongside flexible working across the project area including evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
