About this role
- To clinically verify systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) regimens in accordance with regional sites and in line with BOPA standards for the chemotherapy day units and the inpatient haematology ward.
- To collaborate with the Lead Pharmacists for Cancer Services to ensure the provision of an effective, efficient, and high quality patient focused clinical pharmacy for all patients.
- Liaise with members of the multi-disciplinary team to provide expert haemato-oncology advice, and make suitable, appropriate interventions.
- To obtain the BOPA SACT Passport (if not already held)
- To clinically verify SACT prescriptions on ARIA, including free-of-charge, early access medicine schemes and clinical trials
- To provide specialist pharmaceutical information in relation to SACT
- To support the delivery of the NHS 10 Year Cancer Strategy
- To work with procurement, pharmacy aseptics and the outpatient pharmacies to ensure timely delivery of SACT and supportive medication
- To assist the Lead Pharmacists with updating and implementing policy change
