About this role
Pharmacy are looking for an enthusiastic, organised, self- motivated and physically active person to join the Pharmacy team and fill the crucial role of Pharmacy Porter.
This Pharmacy Porter is responsible for the delivery of medication and pharmaceutical supplies to wards/departments/clinics throughout Conquest Hospital in a timely manner to support the safe and efficient treatment and discharge of patients.
The role is a physically active one and involves the loading and delivery of large quantities of heavy (12 kg max) IV fluid boxes so would suit anybody looking for a physically active job.
The main duties of this role include
The safe and secure delivery of medication and pharmaceutical products to wards/departments/clinics around Conquest Hospital.
The collection of medication no longer required, and the collection of empty distribution boxes and pharmacy medication pouches.
The delivery of controlled drugs securely to wards/departments, ensuring an accurate audit trail is maintained.
Assisting with enquiries at pharmacy reception.
Assisting with the accurate filing of all pharmacy documentation.
Requirements
This role requires a highly motivated and organised person with the ability to organise their own workload to provide the most efficient delivery service.
A minimum level of physical fitness is required as the role is physically active and involves the movement of large quantities of heavy IV boxes (max 12kg). An electronic trolley is available for use for the delivery of products around the hospital.
The successful candidate will require excellent communication skills to ensure the safe and effective delivery and handover of medication. Communication with the wider pharmacy team and ward staff forms a key part of the role.
