Role Overview & Responsibilities

As a Yard Operative, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the yard, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include

• Working outdoors in all weather conditions, supporting daily yard operations
• Providing a high level of customer service by assisting customers with queries and orders
• Receiving deliveries and accurately logging all incoming goods
• Supporting stock checks and ensuring inventory is correctly recorded
• Checking goods for accuracy and quality before loading
• Safely loading and unloading materials, ensuring correct handling procedures are followed
• Maintaining a clean, tidy, and well-organised yard environment
• Adhering to all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working site for staff and customers

This is a varied and active role where no two days are the same.

Candidate Requirements

• Be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Be physically fit and capable of lifting 25kg+
• Have a strong work ethic and excellent attention to detail
• Be dependable, punctual, and committed to their role
• Enjoy working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Have a proactive, can-do attitude and be willing to learn

Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, or builders' merchant environment is beneficial.
