We are looking for an In -patient Ward Receptionist to support S3 Surgical department. The successful candidate will be expected to provide a courteous reception service to patients and clinicians, work closely with nursing and medical staff, manage the booking of designated follow up appointments and work effectively as part of the in-patient team.
The successful candidate is required to be able demonstrate the Trust values, the responsibilities of the job description and person specification. In particular you should have proven experience of working in with the public in an administrative position. You will be expected to give excellent customer care in a busy and high pressured working environment, working across multiple out-patient clinic locations. You should also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a high attention to detail and accuracy.

The ward receptionist is a key role within the administrative function for a number of reasons. This includes being the first point of contact for all visitors to S3 ward maintaining all administrative functions and databases, assisting with queries from patients and visitors and escalating to clinical staffing as appropriate, and maintaining patient records as required.
This role sits within the Surgical 3 ward. The postholder will report directly to the ward manager, supported by the band 6 team leaders who will act as the first line for any and all queries.
The successful postholder must have good IT & communicational skills, and be able to deal with changing priorities and workloads, and be able to work both autonomously and as part of a wider team.
