We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our Dermatology team in West Middlesex Hospital. This role will also involve some cross site working in Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. The post holder will provide senior clinical nursing leadership and professional development for the nursing and health care assistant workforce. The post holder will also provide teaching and education and be involved in the training and development of all staff. The post holder must have an interest and be able to perform surgical skills independently under the supervision of a Dermatology surgical supervisor.
The post holder will be responsible for independent assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, prescribing and performing minor skin surgery, with access to a named dermatology surgical supervisor for escalation of cases outside agreed complexity parameters. These include carrying out punchbiopsies, Curettage and Electrocautery, Shave Biopsy/Excision, Ellipse Excision/epidermal cyst & Suturing within a Dermatology setting. The post holder will also be involved with the main nursing activities in the Dermatology department including Phototherapy, Daycare, Iontophoresis, PDT, Patch Testing, Wound care.
