Diabetes Specialist Nurse – Newham University Hospital

Band 7Full time/Part Time

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and suitably experienced diabetes specialist nurses to join us in covering our inpatient and UEC areas. This is an opportunity to help develop and shape the service as part of a range of improvements at Newham Hospital and you will participate in the planning and delivery of diabetes service whilst contributing to the specialist services.

Applicants will be required to have significant experience managing patients with diabetes and preferably experience of supporting patients with diabetes within the specialties at the hospital.

There will be opportunities for you to further your professional development within this role with both clinical and leadership development opportunities.

Responsible for providing diabetes care using advanced critical thinking and diagnostic reasoning skills, including instigating appropriate clinical investigations and interpreting results to enable the development of an enhanced care package/immediate management plan which will meet the physical and psychological needs of the patient.

· Responsible for providing clinical and professional leadership in running of the service and influencing the future service delivery and nursing strategy, accountable for the delivery and standards of care provided to patient and ensuring safe effective person-centered care

· Provide expert clinical advice to the multidisciplinary team, patients and their families in line with NICE and Trust guidelines
