Functional Assessor - Nurse, Physio, Paramedic or OT
Hybrid Working (2 days from home/3 days in the Assessment Centre)
If you're a clinician with broad experience across multiple adult conditions and want structured work with predictable hours, this role offers a alternative to traditional practice.
If your experience has been focused on a single speciality or limited patient group, this role is unlikely to be the right fit.
This is not a hands-on clinical role. It is report-based and requires strong report writing skills and comfort with structured frameworks.
The Role
As a Functional Assessor with Ingeus, you'll use your clinical reasoning to assess how health conditions impact daily living.
You will
- Conduct telephone, video or face-to-face assessments
- Review medical evidence and complete clinical triage
- Use focused questioning and active listening
- Produce clear, structured reports to strict standards that enable DWP decision making.
What You Need
To be considered, you must have
- NMC or HCPC registration with no restrictions
- Minimum 12 months' recent UK post-registration experience
- Have been a practicing as a clinician in the UK over the last 12 months.
- Experience working with a wide range of adult conditions across different clinical scenarios
- Strong written communication skills and be comfortable using computers.
- High attention to detail and objectivity
This role will suit clinicians who
- Are confident assessing varied health conditions (physical, mental health, long-term)
- Can adapt their clinical reasoning across different patient presentations
- Are comfortable producing detailed written reports
Training & Working Pattern
- 6 months supported training to achieve DWP approval
- Hybrid working post-training
- Full-time hours with predictable schedule
Pay & Benefits
- Up to 10% annual bonus (paid quarterly)
- Starting salary - £46,813.50. Salary at 12 months - £48,813.50 + potential to earn an additional £2000 local bonus for this site.
- Further salary uplifts aligned to new skills & development will continue to apply from year 2.
