General radiologist with a subspecialist interest in Paediatric imaging.

As a senior employee of the Trust you will work in close co-operation with and support other clinical, medical, professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality, safe health care to patients. Integral to these responsibilities is the following:

  • the provision of an exceptional service
  • undertaking all work in accordance with trust policies and procedures including the Code of Behaviour
  • · contribute to the management of the clinical service and service development
  • conducting clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements and within the parameters of Homerton’s business plans

1. Clinical responsibilities

The main duties of the post will be as follows

· To provide, in conjunction with consultant colleagues, a comprehensive radiology service.

· To provide an imaging advisory service for the hospital together with other Consultants in line with an agreed job plan with on call rota and prospective cover

· To liaise effectively and on a timely basis with General Practitioners and community services.

· To maintain and promote team and multi-disciplinary working within the radiology department.

· To participate in the governance process.

· To take part in continuing medical education activities

It is anticipated the job plan will consist of: 2 sessions Ultrasound, 1 session MR, 2 sessions CT (1 acute CT and 1 session cold reporting), 1 session NICU X-ray reporting, 1 session meetings (interesting cases, neonatal and paediatric x-ray meetings), 1 session On Call and 2 SPAs. Part time applications would be considered.

The post holder will be expected to be flexible and co-operative in accordance with the requirements of the department.

Morning lists commence at 8.30 or 9am. Afternoon lists end at 5pm.

The on call commitment varies depending upon staffing levels within the department but will not exceed 1 in 10 weekends.
