About this role
To be responsible for updating, maintaining, and monitoring of PTL (Primary Target List) in line with Trust waiting list policy. To supervise the waiting list and administration team for the booking process and providing administrative support to the Endoscopy Unit. To take responsibility for the co-ordination and organisation this will lead to good booking practice of the procedure lists. To ensure that appointments and patient information are sent out to patients in a timely manner in accordance with departmental protocols and Trust and National Waiting List Targets.
- Responsible for the maintaining accurate diary systems from the Endoscopy timetable ensuring Consultant/Doctors annual and study leave information is accurately recorded, to ensure the smooth running of the service
- To manage the waiting list - Recording, maintaining, and updating waiting list information on patient centre within agreed timescales, so that the PTL data is accurate at all times
- Co-ordinate the tasks for negotiating and agreeing procedure dates with patients, sending out confirmation letters or other appropriate correspondence and patient information within the booking system
- Responsible for re-booking of all patients who have been cancelled for clinical/non-clinical reasons with agreed performance target deadlines
- Directly manage the Endoscopy Reporting System HICCS as System Administrator. Ensuring that Drug Packages, Consultants and referring information is correct and up to date. Ensure that all reports produced are correct and purging any incorrect admissions. Tracking additional users and removing people that no longer use the system. While producing reports for consultants using patient or list specific information.
- Monitoring, managing, and validating Active and Deferred waiting lists, initiating appropriate action to address problems which arise to ensure patients do not breach maximum waiting times and ensuring patient are given reasonable notice and choice of the date for their procedure
