The Governing Board of this welcoming, successful school is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated and skilled level 3 teaching assistant. You must have excellent literacy and numeracy skills, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and experience of working with children in primary phases.

A working understanding of effective teaching and learning is essential, and you must be able to demonstrate an understanding of how children learn.

You must be able to;

  • Promote and support the Catholic ethos of the school
  • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils within the classroom
  • Support pupils consistently whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs
  • Promote independence and employ strategies to develop self-reliance
  • Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement
  • Be able to use your initiative while following the overall direction of the class and school policies
  • Work with the teacher to establish an appropriate learning environment including support with lesson

planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/work plans as appropriate

  • Monitor & evaluate pupils’ responses to learning against pre-determined learning objectives
  • Provide objective & accurate feedback & reports to the teacher on pupil achievement
  • Provide emergency class cover
  • Work well in a team
