Join Rothamsted Research as a Management Accountant and play a key role in delivering high-quality financial and management accounting support across both Rothamsted Research (RRES) and its trading subsidiary, Rothamsted Scientific Services (RoSS).
Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for preparing management accounts for RRES and RoSS and supporting the preparation of RRES month-end processes, producing accruals and prepayments, completing balance sheet reconciliations, reviewing financial transactions, and supporting the annual budget and audit processes.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a finance team during a period of transformation, contributing to continuous improvement while helping to ensure robust financial controls and reporting across the organisation.
Essential skills and experience
Experience of month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
Able to build effective working relationships and manage competing priorities
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or QBE
Desirable skills and experience
Experience working within a charity, not-for-profit, research institute, or grant-funded environment.
Familiarity of restricted and unrestricted grant funding.
Experience using Business World Unit4 ERP.
