About this role
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage our day-to-day financial data. In this role, you will be responsible for recording daily financial transactions, balancing accounts, and preparing essential records. Your work will provide the vital foundation our accountants need to file tax returns and offer strategic financial advice.
Core Responsibilities

Transaction Recording
Enter and categorise all sales, purchases, receipts, and payments into the general ledger.

Reconciliation
Match bank, credit card, and petty cash statements against recorded transactions to ensure absolute accuracy.

Accounts Payable & Receivable
Manage supplier invoices, issue customer bills, and track outstanding balances to ensure timely payments.

Payroll Processing
Calculate employee wages, record statutory deductions (PAYE/NICs), and process payroll.

Report Generation
Create regular financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.

Compliance
Prepare and submit Value Added Tax (VAT) returns and manage related compliance tasks.
Key Skills & Qualifications Required

Software Proficiency
Strong working knowledge of cloud-based accounting software (e.g., Xero or QuickBooks) and advanced spreadsheet (Excel) skills.

Maths & Organisation
High attention to detail, accuracy, and strong numerical skills.
