This is a substantive full-time consultant post in Clinical Oncology specialising in Neuro-oncology with a focus on Teenage & Young Adult (TYA) Neuro-oncology. The post holder will join the existing neuro-oncology team providing leadership and contributing to ongoing research, education and service development at The Royal Marsden. The post holder will be expected to develop the neuro-oncology TYA service and will be fully integrated with the adult neuro-oncology team working at the RM Sutton campus. Specifically, the new consultant will work closely with the existing clinical oncology consultants to co-ordinate care for TYA neuro-oncology patients and cross cover.
- As a senior member of the medical team, the postholder will provide clinical leadership and support for the effective development of the TYA Neuro-oncology service and attend the relevant operational meetings.
- Deliver high-quality clinical care to patients with CNS tumours, with dedicated input into the TYA Neuro-oncology Service.
- Participate in weekly multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to treatment planning and decision-making.
- Provide outpatient and inpatient care at The Royal Marsden with cross-site responsibilities as required.
