Assistant Psychologist | West London NHS Trust

We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Psychologist (0.4 WTE) in Brighter Futures (BF) Clinical Psychology Service. BF Clinical Psychology Service is a team of clinical psychologists embedded across statutory children’s services including children looked after, leaving care, adoption and safeguarding/child protection.

The Assistant Psychologist role is primarily focused on enabling and supporting the team to deliver psychological services to children, young people and families who are supported by Children’s Social Care Services in Ealing. This involves mainly indirect and supportive work, such as service development, evaluation, resource creation and gathering feedback, rather than direct clinical activity.

The post holder will receive regular clinical supervision from a clinical psychologist and have the opportunity to develop skills in both indirect and direct work in a supportive and specialist setting. They will also have access to training to support them in their role.

The post holder will support the team with service development, evaluation, quality improvement and routine outcome monitoring. This may include helping to develop and refine resources and training materials, supporting the collection and organisation of feedback and data from social care colleagues and foster carers, contributing to simple audits and service-user involvement and co-production activities. There is some limited opportunity for direct clinical work under supervision, such as co-delivering groups and assisting with assessments.

We are looking for someone organised and reliable, clear in their written communication, comfortable gathering and summarising feedback, interested in evaluation and service improvement and able to work collaboratively. An interest in the needs of children and families involve with Children’s Social Care would be an advantage.
