Tech Services Lead Delivery Manager

About this role

This role will work with in the within the Digital and Data Directorate within the Delivery and Service Management Team.

The Tech Services Lead Delivery Manager is a senior technology role, responsible for ensuring that changes to existing technology or the introduction of new technology is delivered to meet agreed business requirements. This is a critical role in the context of building sustainable capability to operate, support and improve services in the DVSA.

You will lead multi-disciplinary and matrix managed teams across Tech Services. You will build and continuously improve the delivery profession within Tech Services. In addition, you will lead and direct your team by establishing a profession enabling them to deliver their projectsJoining our department comes with many benefits, including:

You will be responsible for driving a learning culture that promotes effective change to staff at all levels within the business, delivering projects, products and services that meet user needs. Using the most appropriate project approach, you will be able to lead teams within Technology Services and the wider organisation.

Working with Business/Service owners you will lead multi-functional teams covering Infrastructure, User Services, Commercial, Contract Management, Information management & Security and wider agency teams to deliver, large scale, complex, technical projects

You will set, lead and implement the strategy for resource management, which may include third party delivery resources ensuring effective supplier management processes are in place to drive value.

You will be responsible for ensuring adherence of services and/or project deliverables are in line with cross government standards and internal governance processes. Ensuring the delivery management functions projects are delivered to time, cost and quality targets.

Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to

Delivering projects using the appropriate methodology, learning & iterating frequently. Ensuring delivery of solutions that meet user needs, in line with Agency strategy Working with the Project stakeholders to ensure project roadmaps are visible and the flow of work into delivery is prioritised appropriately. Leading the collaborative, dynamic planning process - prioritising the work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of the team Assessing the maturity of teams and coaching them to higher levels of maturity through professional development Managing budgets, setting targets for and reporting on value delivered as part of wider DVSA commitments to public sector spendSetting standards for collaboration and planning for dispersed teams against a blend of both home and office working in a way that maximises value to the agencyRegular engagement with the Corporate Senior Leadership Team in the development and execution of Digital, Data, Technology and/or Cyber security services Frequent engagement with Service Managers or Business owners in the evolution of the Technology Services and processes through prioritisationGreat line management is important to us as an organisation, and we will equip and support line managers to develop the skills they need.
