About this role

If you're looking for a career where you enjoy coming to work, are supported every step of the way and make a real difference every day, becoming an Apprentice Early Years Practitioner could be the perfect opportunity.

You'll earn while you learn, gaining a nationally recognised qualification whilst developing the skills to become a qualified Nursery Practitioner. No previous childcare experience is needed—just reliability, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

Love the idea of teaching but not the marking, late evenings or endless paperwork? As a Nursery Practitioner, you'll help children learn through play, curiosity and everyday experiences. Most of your day is spent with the children, not behind a desk, and you'll only complete a small amount of essential record keeping, with plenty of support from your team throughout your apprenticeship.

Opportunities to join our Hampton Court team are rare, as our team is happy and well established. This vacancy has arisen only because one of our colleagues is starting her university degree.

As an Apprentice Early Years Practitioner, you'll

  • Support children's learning through play.
  • Plan fun, age-appropriate activities.
  • Observe children's development.
  • Help with meals, personal care and daily routines.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
  • The apprenticeship includes coursework, but it's spread over time and you'll be fully supported by experienced Nursery Practitioners, Managers and your assessor throughout.

Why join us?

We offer flexible 4 or 5-day working patterns, genuine career progression and a friendly team that wants you to succeed. Many of our Apprentice Early Years Practitioners go on to become qualified Nursery Practitioners, Senior Practitioners, Room Leaders, Deputy Managers and Managers.

Benefits

  • Salary £20,000–£26,000 depending on experience.
  • Up to £30,000+ once qualified and progressing.
  • 30–40 hours per week.
  • Uniform provided.
  • £200 staff referral bonus.
  • 40–60% childcare discount.
  • Ongoing training, apprenticeships and further qualifications.
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
  • 24/7 video GP service.
  • Company discounts and rewards.
