Are you an experienced Early Years professional ready to take the next step in your career?

We are looking for a dedicated, compassionate and enthusiastic Third in Charge to join a welcoming nursery team in Muswell Hill. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Room Leader who is looking to progress into a more senior position. You’ll play an important role in supporting the nursery management team while helping to ensure children receive exceptional care, education and opportunities to thrive.

Please note

You must hold a full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (or equivalent) to be considered for this position.

The Role

As Third in Charge, you will support Room Leaders and Early Years Practitioners with the day-to-day running of the nursery, helping to maintain high standards of care, learning and safeguarding.

Your responsibilities will include

• Supporting Room Leaders and Practitioners in the effective management of their rooms.

• Helping to create a safe, engaging and nurturing environment that meets the individual needs of every child.

• Ensuring nursery practice and provision meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

• Monitoring, evaluating and helping to continuously improve the quality of childcare practice.

• Building positive and professional relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues.

• Supporting and developing staff, including helping to agree and review individual development targets.

• Taking on playroom and additional management responsibilities when required.

• Supporting the nursery in maintaining agreed budgets and controlling costs.

• Promoting consistently high standards of safeguarding, care and early years education.

What We’re Looking For

To be successful, you will need

• A full and relevant Level 3 Childcare/Early Years qualification or equivalent.

• Previous experience working within an Early Years or nursery environment, ideally with Room Leader or senior responsibilities.

• Good knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

• Experience observing, assessing and planning for children's learning and development.

• A Paediatric First Aid Certificate.

• The right to work in the UK.

• Strong communication and leadership skills.

• A genuine passion for supporting children to learn, develop and thrive.
