About this role

Detailed job description and main responsibilities The majority of your clinical time will be allocated to critical care unit under supervision of critical care consultant but will be required to participate in on-call rota with indirect supervision of consultant. In these circumstances the on-call critical care consultant will be available for advice and assistance if necessary. Experienced Doctors may occasionally be required to shadow, supervise and support new core trainees or specialty trainees as part of their on-call commitment but the on-call duties are for Intensive Care. The post holder may be involved in teaching and supervision of other doctors and medical students, nurses and other healthcare professionals. The post holder will be expected to engage in the departments full shift pattern with prospective cover for annual leave and study leave. The full-time post is for 10-13 PAs per week depending on the agreed job plan. The department works very closely with department of Anaesthesia and shares on-call doctors from Anaesthesia department. All rotas are EWTD compliant in line with the 2016 Junior Doctor Contract and 2019 amendments to this contract.
