Kitchen Extraction Cleaner

We are seeking reliable, experienced Kitchen Extraction Cleaners to join a team servicing commercial catering sites. The role involves cleaning, servicing and maintaining kitchen extraction systems to ensure safety, hygiene and regulatory compliance. This is a hands-on, site-based role requiring attention to detail, strong health and safety awareness and the ability to work independently or as part of a small team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain kitchen extraction systems including canopies, ductwork, filters, grease traps and fan units
  • Carry out routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure systems operate efficiently
  • Perform deep cleans in line with industry best practice and guidance (TR19 knowledge ideal)
  • Remove grease and debris safely, using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment
  • Complete site risk assessments, method statements and maintain accurate service and compliance records
  • Work at height and access confined spaces safely using ladders, harnesses or mobile access platforms as required
  • Report defects, recommend repairs or replacement parts and liaise with maintenance teams where necessary
  • Maintain PPE, tools and equipment, ensuring cleanliness and safe storage

Skills and Experience Required

  • Proven experience cleaning, servicing and maintaining commercial kitchen extraction systems
  • Knowledge of TR19 guidance is ideal; experience working to industry standards and compliance requirements
  • Competent in use of cleaning chemicals, pressure washers and extraction cleaning tools
  • Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces; able to follow safe working procedures
  • Good practical problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work flexible hours (including early mornings, evenings or weekends as required)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to complete accurate service documentation

Desirable Qualifications and Attributes

  • Relevant industry qualifications or certifications (where applicable)
  • Previous experience in a similar commercial catering or facilities maintenance environment
  • Valid driving licence and willingness to travel between sites
