Clinical Nurse Specialist - Breast | The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust

An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic nurse to join our established, friendly and supportive team of Breast Clinical Nurse Specialist in Sutton.

The post will focus on the holistic care of patients with primary and secondary breast cancer. If you have experience nursing breast oncology patients on treatment or clinical nurse specialist experience in the cancer pathway setting this post will be an excellent opportunity for you. The successful candidate will join an established friendly team of nurses who work closely with ANP's, the medical and research nursing teams. • To provide professional and clinical leadership and expertise in the care of the patient with lung cancers, acting as a resource to provide information and support to patients, carers and staff.
• To take responsibility for own evidence-based practice and implement into the body of knowledge that supports nursing practice within

Job Description and Person Specification

• To sustain a high-quality specialist service for the patient, from diagnosis through all stages of the disease and actively provide optimum liaison and continuity of care.
• To use advanced clinical judgement to plan, implement and evaluate care for patients throughout their cancer pathway
• In collaboration with the existing Clinical Nurse Specialists, to formulate and/or revise relevant policies and to regularly review this following change/implementation. To work within the procedures and policies of the Trust.
• In conjunction with the existing Clinical Nurse Specialists, to develop assessment tools that will ensure an appropriate level of nursing intervention so that patients with complex needs are referred to the appropriate specialist/s.
• To manage an agreed caseload, using in depth knowledge of the patient / client group and acting as the key worker where appropriate.
