Duties of a Vehicle Technician
- Conduct servicing, maintenance, and repair work on a wide range of vehicles efficiently and to high standards
- Perform diagnostic work, warranty repairs, and routine servicing
- Handle tasks such as oil changes, cambelt replacements, and general mechanical repairs
- Carry out electronic vehicle health checks (eVHCs) adhering to workshop standards
- Complete accurate job card write-ups to ensure high levels of productivity and quality
- Work collaboratively within a team, maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction
Requirements of a Vehicle Technician
- Qualified to Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (IMI, City & Guilds or equivalent)
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician or Service Technician in a workshop environment
- Confident working on diagnostics, servicing, and repairs
- Strong team player with a professional, process-driven approach
- MOT license is advantageous but not essential; training can be provided
- Eager to expand knowledge in manufacturer accreditation, EV, and hybrid technologies
- Ability to work 45 hours per week, including weekends on a rota basis
