Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

The role

Managing and prioritising a clinical caseload of patients with complex communication and/or swallowing needs. Completing specialist assessments and developing individualised treatment programmes. Delivering evidence-based Speech and Language Therapy interventions. Supporting patients to achieve meaningful rehabilitation goals and maximise their independence. Contributing to multidisciplinary assessment, goal setting, care planning and reviews. Providing specialist advice and training to colleagues, families and carers where appropriate. Supporting the assessment and management of dysphagia. Maintaining accurate and timely clinical records. Contributing to clinical audit, service development and quality improvement. Supporting students and junior colleagues where appropriate. Working in accordance with professional standards, policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the people we support.
