Join our Children and Young People’s Occupational Therapy (CYPOT) Team as a Therapy Assistant, supporting children and young people across Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea, and Westminster. You will work under the guidance and supervision of qualified Occupational Therapists, providing vital support in a range of settings, includingmainstream and special schools, with opportunities to make a meaningful difference to children and young people's everyday lives.

You will

• Independently manage a delegated caseload of non-complex cases, with support and consultation from Occupational Therapy staff.
• Support Occupational Therapists with assessments and interventions.
• Gather information about children and young people's needs, strengths and health to help inform care and prioritisation.
• Work collaboratively with families, mainstream and special schools, nurseries and other professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Carry out administrative and clerical duties that support the effective running of the service.
• Work across a variety of settings, including clinics, community centres, mainstream and special schools, nurseries and children and young people's homes.

The role offers varied experience within community-based children's services, including opportunities to work inspecial educational settings, develop your skills and contribute to inclusive, person-centred care.

As a Therapy Assistant, you will support the Community Occupational Therapy Service for children and young people registered with a GP in Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea or Westminster. The service supports children and young people who experience difficulties with functional abilities or skills development in areas such as self-care,productivityand leisure.

Key responsibilities include

• Supporting the delivery of Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions as delegated by an Occupational Therapist.
• Managing a defined caseload of non-complex cases within agreed levels of responsibility.
• Working closely with Occupational Therapists, the wider multidisciplinary team,familiesand education staff to support assessment and intervention.
• Working independently within your defined clinical area and taking responsibility for your own clinical actions.
• Contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of the community Occupational Therapy service.
• Supporting other therapy professionals, such as Speech and Language Therapists, Psychologists and Physiotherapists, whererequired.
• Providingaccurateinformation and completing relevant administrative tasks to support safe and effective care.
