Specialist Clinical Psychologist | Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust

To provide a highly specialist psychology service to patients of Clinical Health Psychology with long-term conditions such as HIV, and problems in relation to sexuality and sexual health including specialist assessment, treatment, planning, implementation and monitoring of outcomes.

To triage, assess and either refer appropriately or treat a diverse range of patients with HIV, HTLV and/or concerns relating to sexuality, gender, sexual health or sexual function, offering individual or group treatment as appropriate, using evidence based treatment modalities flexibly and appropriately according to patient need.

To record treatment sessions, to measure and record outcomes and carry out audit to improve services

To contribute to the department in offering suggestions re innovations and procedures and by offering support to colleagues

To supervise trainees or Assistant Psychologists where appropriate

Job Purpose

· To provide a highly specialist psychology service to patients of Clinical Health Psychology with long-term conditions such as HIV, and problems in relation to sexuality and sexual health including specialist assessment, treatment, planning, implementation and monitoring of outcomes.

· To contribute to enabling other staff, service users and carers from diverse backgrounds to flourish by working to create a psychologically safe environment.

· To provide clinical supervision and consultation as appropriate, functioning as a specialist in Clinical Health Psychology, especially in the above areas

· To undertake service evaluation, audit and research.

· To work as an autonomous professional within BPS and HCPC guidelines and codes of conduct, and guided by principles and policies or procedures of the service, taking responsibility for interpreting policies within defined parameters.

· To agree outcomes/results with clinical/professional lead and to decide how they are best achieved.
